- Two-time starting quarterback under Bob Commings
- Led Massillon to a 10-0 record, outscoring opponents 412-29 (1970)
- Led his team to a 22-3 comeback victory agains state #1 ranked Niles
- Scored all three touchdowns in a 22-0 victory over Warren Harding
- Produced four touchdowns against Trotwood Madison
- 28-0 victory over previously undefeated Canton McKinley, state champions (1970)

- Recruited by legendary University of Michigan head coach Bo Schembechler
- Started for the Wolverines three seasons (1972-1974)
- First African-American starter at quarterback for Michigan
- Compiled a 30-2-1 record as a starter at Michigan
- Shared the Big Ten Championship all three seasons
- Ran for 1,212 yards and passed for 2,285 yards in his career
