Q: What year did you graduate from Washington High School, and what activities or clubs were you involved in?
A: I am a proud alumna from the Class of 2009. During my time at Massillon WHS, I was a member of the Hi-Times journalism staff, Young Life, and the National Honor Society.
Q: What inspired you to join the Alumni Association Board, and what excites you most about supporting WHS alumni?
A: Since graduating, I’ve made it a point to stay aware of what’s happening at the high school—whether it’s sports, academics, or events like Miss Massillonian and Outstanding Senior Boy. So when the opportunity came to be active with the Alumni Association, give back, and serve in whatever capacity I could, I didn’t want to miss it. I’m grateful to bring my skills, abilities, and ideas to the board!
Q: What is your role on the Alumni Association Board, and what kinds of things do you help with or focus on?
A: I currently serve as a Trustee, and I look forward to being involved with various committees and events. I recently helped sell alumni shirts before the Warren football game and thoroughly enjoyed it!
Q: Can you share a favorite memory from your time at WHS or a fun fact about yourself?
A: My favorite memory was being crowned Senior Homecoming Queen in the fall of 2009.
Q: What advice or message would you like to share with current WHS students or fellow alumni?
A: The advice I would give to WHS students and my fellow alumni is to “take joy in the journey.” Oftentimes we focus so much on the destination or arriving at a specific point in our lives that we forget to appreciate the moments it takes to get there.
Q: What do you enjoy most about serving on the Alumni Association Board, and what do you hope to accomplish with the team?
A: I enjoy coming together with fellow alumni who are just as passionate about WHS and the Massillon Tigers as I am, and who want the best for our students and the organization as a whole. I look forward to adding to the legacy of the WHS Massillon Tigers by contributing to the various committees, events, and fundraisers organized by the Alumni Association.
