77th Performance of Handel's Messiah
Handel's "Messiah" 77th Presentation Sunday, December 12th, 2021 at 3pm, will be the seventy-seventh presentation of Handel's Messiah by the Washington High School choirs. After not being able to get together last year for our tradition, we are so excited to come back together! Our students are truly excited to once again be a part of this tradition, one of your legacies! This performance will be notably different as we continue moving into a new style of performance. For the past three to five years, the choir program has discussed the problem areas of continuously putting on this performance. With those areas showing little change despite our best pushes, we have designed a new program to interact with our alumni and our community. As always, choir alumni will form an important part of this chorus, and our tradition. Call your alumni friends and invite them to join you in singing this season!
PLEASE register by November 19th. This season, a registration fee of $10.00 will be required. This allows the department the necessary upkeep on choir materials. We are grateful for your support. Simply bring a check, made payable to the Massillon Board of Education.
In fairness to all our own students who work throughout the autumn on the score, and in an understanding of all the logistical concerns, we are asking that all alumni participate in at least two scheduled rehearsals. Dress rehearsal is mandatory! All books, robes and candles must be assigned prior to dress rehearsal. We have a wonderful experience bringing together each Messiah performance.
