Under third year head coach and alum Josh Hose ('97), the Massillon Tiger basketball team continued its winning ways despite struggles with player quarantines and getting a late start because of the extended football season (always a good thing here, but not necessarily for basketball).
The Tigers defeated a previously unbeaten Wooster team as well as local rivals Perry and Central. The roundball Bengals kept it interesting with Division I powers McKinley and Jackson, but lost by 10 points to each. In the state tournament, a sectional win over Hudson was followed by a loss to Solon. The Tigers findished out at 15-9.
It could be noted here that Ohio basketball divisions do not reflect Ohio's football divisions. For basketball, we are one of the smaller schools in Ohio's Division I.
